Telehealth

ASN has helped the government advance various patient care and telehealth measures, joining 42 other Council of Medical Specialty Societies members to call on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to establish temporary payment parity for telephone visits with patients during the pandemic.

ASN strongly supported CMS’s expansion of telehealth coverage to enable clinicians to provide telehealth services for beneficiaries residing across the entire country. The society’s advocacy efforts have also resulted in the provision of tool kits that offer important information about approved current procedural terminology (CPT) codes.

The following articles relate to initiatives and activities that align with ASN’s efforts to identify, prioritize, and advocate for policies that promote the highest quality patient care, increased funding for research, and a commitment to medical education funding for kidney diseases on the federal legislative, regulatory, and profession-sanctioned levels.
