Home Dialysis

ASN has been working to expand access to home dialysis by supporting the inclusion of capital-related assets, such as home dialysis machines. ASN also supports waiving the 20-day in-center training (peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis) requirements for patients eligible for home dialysis, waiving the 20 percent coinsurance for patients under Medicare Fee-for-Service for home training and home dialysis treatments, and waiving SSAct 1881(b) limitations to ensure all home dialysis visits can be done through telehealth.

The following articles relate to initiatives and activities that align with ASN’s efforts to identify, prioritize, and advocate for policies that promote the highest quality patient care, increased funding for research, and a commitment to medical education funding for kidney diseases on the federal legislative, regulatory, and profession-sanctioned levels.
