2019 APS/ASN Conference: Control of Renal Function in Health and Disease

apa_marketing.PNGASN has a strong history of supporting basic science. For example, ASN has held two summits for PhDs since 2013, initiated a grants program for PhD students , funded research fellowship and career development grants in basic science , and expanded the Kidney TREKS (Tutored Research and Education for Kidney Scholars) program to include PhD students .

ASN is excited to announce that beginning this year, the society will jointly present the American Physiological Society (APS)/ASN Conference: Control of Renal Function in Health and Disease . In addition to co-presenting the conference, ASN will provide travel support for up to 30 participants to attend the conference via the APS/ASN Conference Travel Support Program. This program underscores ASN’s continued commitment to expand opportunities for ASN members interested in basic or fundamental science.

Applications are now being accepted for this travel support program through Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. EST, and the society encourages those who are interested in attending to apply.


Eligibility

The 2019 APS/ASN Conference will take place from Sunday, June 23, to Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Charlottesville, VA.

To be eligible for this travel support program, applicants must:

  • be an ASN member,
  • have an MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent degree, and
  • be a full-time faculty member within seven years of initial faculty appointment.


The travel support will provide participants with $1,800 USD to cover travel-related expenses to attend the APS/ASN Conference and complimentary registration to the meeting.
