How would you sum up your research in one sentence?

  • My research focuses on the role of tubuloglomerular feedback mechanism in hypertension and kidney diseases.


What impact do you hope your research will have on patients?

  • I hope my current research could discover some novel therapeutic targets for preeclampsia .


What are your short- and long-term career goals?

  • Apply for transition-to-independence research funding and progressing to a rank of research faculty over the next two years. Become an independent and competitive principal investigator focusing on renal hypertension and kidney diseases over the course of the next five to ten years.


What inspired you to focus your research in kidney diseases?

  • As a scientist on kidney research, my goals are to conduct rigorous studies with scientific integrity and translate basic science advancement into the clinic to improve healthcare for patients with hypertension and kidney diseases.


Please describe the importance of having grant funding available through the ASN Foundation.

  • The current fellowship award will serve as a critical milestone for my academic career as an independent investigator on kidney research.


What advice would you give to others to encourage them to apply for this grant funding?

  • It is a great opportunity to develop a research project of your own, improve your scientific grant writing skills and build your funding track for academic career as a young investigator.
