Brand-New JASN/CJASN Session Set for Kidney Week 2018 in San Diego

Announced this year, there will be a brand-new session occurring at Kidney Week 2018 in San Diego on October 25. The session focuses on significant publications in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (JASN) and the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (CJASN) from this past year.

Editor-in-Chief of JASN, Josephine P. Briggs, MD, and Editor-in-Chief of CJASN, Rajnish Mehrotra, MD, MBBS, FASN, will moderate the session, highlighting innovative clinical, translational, and basic research in nephrology. Topics will also cover diverse, novel, and clinically applicable science across a variety of nephrology disciplines.

The four presentations during the session include:

  • Best of Kidney Transplantation
    02:00 PM – 02:30 PM

  • Best of Vascular Biology and Cardiovascular Disease
    02:30 PM – 03:00 PM
    Led by Rulan S. Parekh, MD, MS, FASN and Joanne M. Bargman, MD
     
  • Best of Glomerular Disease
    03:00 PM – 03:30PM
    Led by Hans J. Anders, MD and Charles D. Pusey, FASN
     
  • Best of Chronic Kidney Disease
    03:30 PM – 04:00 PM
    Led by Marva M. Moxey-Mims, MD, FASN and Stephen L. Seliger, MD, MS


Twenty-nine papers will be presented in total including:

  • Three papers featuring important advances in C3 Glomerulopathy
  • Six clinical trial results which will have a strong influence on clinical care
  • Three papers that will be released the day of the session within the disciplines of chronic kidney disease and kidney transplantation
