During the conversation, ASN Executive Vice President Tod Ibrahim asked, "In approaching this crisis on a macro-level, what would your overall advice be to your colleagues and other institutions throughout the country and world?" Dr. Murphy replied, "The biggest thing I would say is to look forward. Look at where you have to go, look at where the numbers are going and plan for that. This is not about, on any given day, 'we're fine, we've got it', it's not about filling holes. It's about being strategic, mapping out where you need to be... what are the manpower needs, the space needs, and the equipment needs."

Dr. Murphy also confirmed that social distancing/self-isolation efforts are working in New York. "We clearly have seen a change in the curve here, in the peak" she said. "I can't emphasize that enough."
