cjasn trainee_0.pngThe American Society of Nephrology (ASN) and The Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (CJASN) are strongly committed to the next generation of nephrologists and want to encourage junior colleagues as they begin their careers. CJASN is therefore introducing our inaugural contest among trainees for the best article submitted to the journal by a trainee as first author. This competition, entitled, "CJASN Trainee of the Year" will recognize outstanding work done by junior colleagues in early stages of their careers in nephrology.

The deadline for eligibility in the 2019 "CJASN Trainee of the Year" prize competition is this Friday, June 14. Manuscripts submitted from June 15, 2019 – June 14, 2020 will be considered for the 2020 competition.

Trainees include students, residents, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and fellows. The article must be submitted during or within six months of completion of the training program. A 12-month extension will be considered for child-birth in the last year of training or within six months of completion of the training program, allowing for submission within 18 months of completion of training.

CJASN will award up to two cash prizes annually for winning articles. First place is a $750 cash prize and second place will be a $500 cash prize. First and second place winners will also receive public recognition and complimentary publication in CJASN.
