A recent study was published in the April 2019 issue of CJASN, “Patients’ and Nephrologists’ Evaluation of Patient-Facing Smartphone Apps for CKD”.
Please access the abstract and full report on the CJASN website.
To get a behind-the-scenes look into the study, Kidney News Online interviewed Karandeep Singh, MD, MMSc, first author on the study and Assistant Professor in the Departments of Learning Health Sciences and Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School.
The newest episode of the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (CJASN) is hosted by Nazem Akoum, MD, MS, FACC, FHRS. He discusses the recent article he and his colleagues published in CJASN, entitled: “Rates of Cardiac Rhythm Abnormalities in Patients with CKD and Diabetes”.
The purpose of the experiment was to study the occurrence of arrhythmias in a population of diabetic patients with moderate to severe kidney disease. A similar study has been conducted in the past, but with completed with patients with ESRD and on hemodialysis, whereas this study’s participants have CKD and are not on hemodialysis.
The Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (CJASN) is strongly committed to the next generation of nephrologists and strives to encourage junior colleagues as they begin their careers. In honor of this commitment, in 2019, CJASN will launch CJASN Trainee of the Year; an inaugural prize contest among trainees for the best article submitted to the journal by a trainee as first author. This competition will recognize outstanding work done by junior colleagues in early stages of their careers in nephrology.
