The House Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing on Wednesday, January 8th, on the Comprehensive Immunosuppressive Drug Coverage for Kidney Transplant Patients Act of 2019, advancing a long-standing legislative priority of the American Society of Nephrology.

CMMI releases updated Kidney Care Choices Model (KCC) based on ASN Quality Committee recommendation

After two months of ASN advocacy, led by the ASN Quality Committee, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) today, January 2, 2020, announced adjustments to the proposed Kidney Care Choices (KCC) Model’s basic design. The changes were originally called for by the ASN Quality Committee – just after the model’s unveiling – and were intended to correct a design flaw that made it impossible for many nephrology practices in multi-specialty practices to participate.

ASN Preliminary Analysis Released on AY 2020 Nephrology Match Data

The appointment year 2020 nephrology Match results report was release by ASN on December 4th. Composed by Kurtis Pivert, MS (Candidate) ASN Data Science Officer, the report that the results of the AY 2020 nephrology Match were exactly flat compared with AY 2019 according to preliminary data from the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). A total of 291 candidates matched into one of 169 participating tracks, filling 62% of 469 offered positions.

Today, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) launched the second phase of KidneyX: Redesign Dialysis, a prize competition that seeks to transform kidney care. Redesign Dialysis is part of a series of KidneyX prize competitions to catalyze the development of innovative solutions that can prevent, diagnose, and treat kidney diseases.

CKD More Prominent in the U.S. Than in Europe
